Dear Parents,

We have the pleasure to announce the beginning of the Math Competition for Grade 1,2 and 3 for Boys and Girls.

Math competitions have several educational virtues. They are great practice for the standardized tests kids will inevitably take in high school. They also raise kids’ interest in mathematics and improve the capacity to solve problems. On the other hand, math competitions help in the identification of mathematically gifted young people at an early age so that good care will be taken to develop their talents and skills. In fact, whoever recognizes the pleasure of it and discovers its beauty will enjoy it forever.

Description of Activity:
•    A three – round competition will take will take place in Weeks 9, 10 and 11.
•    Teachers will eliminate students according to the results of the prepared tests in the three rounds.
•    The final results will take three students from each section to be the winners. A ceremony will be held in Week 12 (on Sunday 19/4/2015) to congratulate and appreciate those students. Gifts and certificates of participation will be awarded to the top three winners in each grade.

Dates of activity:Rounds will take place in Weeks 9, 10, 11; celebration will take place in Week 12 in the Canteen. (Details on the event program will be provided in due time.)

Students participating in this activity:  All students in Grades 1, 2, 3 (Boys and Girls-International Section)
